The Salvation Army is a tremendous asset to the Lewis County area. They offer assistance with shelter, education, food and many other badly needed resources. In fact, they offer so many resources that I have reached out to the agency for more information.
Here are the details I have so far:
Centralia area residents who receive a referral from DSHS, Red Cross, Love Inc. or another agency may be able to receive emergency food bank from the Salvation Army food bank. You may also receive service if you are a Lewis County resident in an emergency situation who cannot wait for the local food bank to open.
The food bank is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 4pm, although they close between 12pm and 1pm for lunch. On Fridays, the food bank is available between 10am and 3pm (closed between 12pm and 1pm). You must show up 15 minutes before closing to be served. If you show up after that time, you may be turned away without food.
Lunches are served Wednesday through Friday between 11am and 11:45am. Clients who receive lunches cannot receive regular food boxes during the months they attend lunches. Sack lunches may be provided to the homeless.
Lewis County residents who are at risk of eviction may be able to receive help from the Salvation Army of Lewis County. You will need to supply an eviction notice and proof of income for service. Please call (360) 736-4339 for more information.
Limited utility assistance is available to low income adults who reside in Lewis County and are at risk of being disconnected. You will be required to provide a late notice and proof of your household income. Please call (360) 330-0376 to schedule an appointment.
Hours vary by service. Please read the description or contact the agency directly.
