Since 1965, Rural Resources Community Action has helped Northeastern Washington residents help themselves and each other through helpful community programs and support.
Low income families, disabled individuals, seniors on fixed incomes, and utility customers at risk of shut-off may be able to receive assistance from Rural Resources Community Action. In addition to help paying your utility bills, you may also be able to receive no-cost or low-cost weatherization assistance.
Rural Resources offers many housing options, including:
- Emergency shelter or transitional housing for the homeless, including domestic violence victims.
- Affordable rental housing units
- Rental assistance (to help you pay rent)
- No-cost repairs and improvements (through the weatherization program)
- No-interest and low-interest home repair loans for low-income homeowners
- Resources to help you buy and maintain your first home
Employment & Education Services
Rural Resources can help you obtain and keep steady employment through the following programs:
- Basic skills training
- Adult literacy programs
- ESL & GED prep tutoring
- Computer skills courses
- Vocational training
- Work experience
- Paid on-the-job training
- Supportive services (gas money, work clothes, tools, etc)
- Youth services
Rural Resources assists older adults in Ferry County through the following services:
- Case management
- Meal programs
- Free bus transportation
- Caregiver support (including respite care)
Rural Resources coordinates many transportation options in Ferry County, including:
- Dial-a-Ride bus services
- Commuter routes (50 cents per one-way trip)
- Free transportation for seniors and disabled passengers
