Centralia College offers several Parent Support Services. These services are offered in group and individual settings for parents who are struggling, dealing with court orders or who have CPS referrals. These programs are designed to strengthen families by providing education and support.
Training in Positive Parenting Skills (TIPPS) classes are designed for families with children under age 12. These classes use nurturing parenting techniques to increase a parent’s positive role and teach effective parenting strategies. The class is taught in a group setting with child interaction. It includes supervised visitation for parents who do not currently have custody of their kids.
Parenting in Recovery (PIR) is a class designed to support recovering families as they rebuild trusting relationships, renew family bonds and reverse the negative impact of substance abuse.
To participate, you will need to call a Program Coordinator for more information. All classes reward college credit upon successful completion. Classes are offered for little or no fee.
